Call for Student Volunteers
56th Annual Convention of the Parapsychological Association
August 8-11, 2013
Viterbo, Italy

The Parapsychological Association is seeking several student volunteers to help bring our 56th Annual Meeting to Viterbo, Italy on August 8-11, 2013. Below is a description of the volunteer positions that we are seeking to fill:

1. Student Assistant to the Executive Director – Should be able to speak/write Italian and English fluently and be comfortable working with Microsoft Office. This person will be responsible for running the registration table during the event, and may be called upon to perform other duties, but will still be able to attend convention presentations.

2. Student Assistant to the Arrangements Chair – Should be local to Italy and able to speak both Italian and English fluently. Will be asked to assist the AC at the event, help coordinate local printing of the convention materials, and help manage social events during the convention itself.

3. Student Assistant to the Program Chair - Should speak/write English fluently and be comfortable working with Microsoft Office. This person will be asked to assist presenters in using the A/V equipment during the convention (i.e. loading presentations onto a shared computer, directing people to microphones, etc.) and assist the Program Chair with any general needs that may come up during the convention.

4. Student Photographer – This person will be asked to photograph presenters and events for use on the PA website. Amateurs/hobbyists are encouraged to inquire about this role, but please have sufficient equipment and know-how to avoid flash photography during presentations.

Volunteering provides a great opportunity to get more involved in the PA and support our international community of scientists and scholars. In appreciation for their assistance, student volunteers will receive free PA convention registration. However, volunteers will be responsible for their own transportation and accommodations.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Executive Director, Annalisa Ventola at business@parapsych.org by March 11, 2013. In your email, please state the position(s) you are interested in, your location, your institution of study, languages spoken, and any other relevant skills. Additional information, such as CV/resume or a recommendation from a PA member, is useful, but not required.
