Call for Papers - Breaking Convention: A Multidisciplinary Conference on Psychedelic Consciousness

Following on from the success of our first conference in April 2011 at the University of Kent, the next ‘Breaking Convention: Multidisciplinary Conference on Psychedelic Consciousness’ will be held at the University of Greenwich, 12-14 July, 2013. The call for papers is now out until 28th February. Please go to http://breakingconvention.co.uk/call-papers/ to submit your abstract for consideration.

ABSTRACTS
Your abstract must be between 100-400 words and must clearly and concisely describe the proposed remit of your talk. Research submissions are preferred, although data may be either qualitative or quantitative. Non-research submissions will also be considered.
Along with your abstract you must attach a short biography (no more than 400 words) and, where applicable, a list of relevant publications. Please also state your current country of residence.
Although we will consider submissions which do not fall into the following categories, your chances of acceptance will be increased if your abstract pertains to one or more:

TOPICS
- Psychedelic Psychiatry & Medicine
- Psychedelic Neuroscience, Physiology and Psychology.
- Psychedelics & Philosophy
- Psychedelics, Time & Perception
- Psychedelic and Non-psychedelic Altered States of Consciousness (ASCs).
- Psychedelics & Poetic Expression
- Psychedelics, Healing & Spirituality
- Drug Policy & Activism
- Psychedelic History, Literature & Ethnography.

REIMBURSEMENT AND SUBSIDY
Unfortunately we will not be able to subsidise entry or expenses for speakers whose abstracts are accepted. Breaking Convention tries very hard to keep its ticket prices as low as possible, and consequently we are only able to provide financial help to our invited speakers. If your abstract is accepted, you will be required to register for the conference to confirm.

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
- The abstract must clearly describe the proposed talk and, where applicable, the source of data.
- Applicants may be from any background, with no minimum education levels, although all are expected to demonstrate expertise in their area of interest. This must be summarised in the biography.
- The abstract must be strictly relevant to the conference.
- Abstracts must be received by the deadline of 28 February.

Please go to http://breakingconvention.co.uk/call-papers/ to submit your abstract for consideration.
