Norman S. Don, Ph. D., is a neuroscientist at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and has done extensive field work in Brazil, studying the brain function of trance mediums, healers, people who take the hallucinogenic mixture, ayhuasca, and people claiming UFO abduction. In addition to more mainstream work, he has published some 100 papers and book chapters on parapsychology and brain function. He met the East Indian teacher Meher Baba in 1970, which led him into consciousness studies and writing poetry.
