Psychic Detectives

Arthur Young, inventor of the helicopter rotor, was trying to come to terms with a helicopter accident which had killed both the pilot and co-pilot. Driven by guilt, he had searched in vain for some technical fault. Eventually, he brought a piece of the helicopter blade to the famous medium Eileen Garrett, who handled it while attempting a psychometric vision of the past incident. Young did not wish to interrogate the mourning family, but a year later he went to see the head of the agency which had hired the pilot. This man admitted that the pilot had indeed been on the verge of a nervous breakdown and was about to enter a monastery.
