Congratulations to Dr. Michael Nahm, who has been selected to receive the PA’s 2023 Outstanding Contribution Award. This award goes to a PA member who has made an outstanding research (experimental, theoretical, scholarly) or service contribution that has advanced the discipline of parapsychology.
Dr. Michael Nahm is a distinguished biologist and research associate at the Institute for Frontier Areas of Psychology and Mental Health (Institut für Grenzgebiete der Psychologie und Psychohygiene - IGPP) in Freiburg, Germany. His research, characteristically probing the interface between biology, consciousness, and parapsychology, encompasses a diverse range of topics including terminal lucidity, near-death experiences, reincarnation cases, physical mediumship, hauntings, and poltergeists.
With four books and mora than 100 scientific articles to his name, Dr. Nahm has notably pioneered advancements in the field of terminal lucidity, contributing extensively to the literature with his seminal work, Wenn die Dunkelheit ein Ende findet: Terminale Geistesklarheit und andere ungewöhnliche Phänomene in Todesnähe. His intellectual curiosity and rigorous scholarly approach have not only expanded our understanding of the interplay between biology and parapsychology but have also illuminated new avenues of research in these fascinating fields.
