The Parapsychological Association is seeking several student volunteers to help bring the 54th Annual Meeting of the Parapsychological Association to Curitiba, Brazil on August 18-21st, 2011. Below is a description of the volunteer positions that we are seeking to fill:

1. Student Assistant to the Executive Secretary – Must be able to speak/write Portuguese and English fluently and be comfortable working with Microsoft Office. Will be asked to assist with writing/translating press releases and registration materials. This person is also responsible for running the registration table during the event (but will still be able to attend convention presentations).

2. Student Assistant to the Arrangement's Chair/Local Host – Should be local to Brazil and bilingual. Will be asked to assist the AC throughout the year, help coordinate local printing of the convention materials, and help manage social events during the convention itself.

3. Student Assistant to the Program Chair - Should speak/write English fluently and be comfortable working with Microsoft Office. Will assist the Program Chair throughout the year and will assist with keeping convention presentations running smoothly during the event itself. This person will also assist with moving the microphone during discussion periods.

Volunteering provides a great opportunity for students to get more involved in the PA and support our international community of scientists and scholars. In appreciation for their assistance, the above volunteers will receive free PA convention registration and free admittance to the annual banquet meal. Volunteers will be responsible for their own transportation and accommodations.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Executive Secretary, Annalisa Ventola at business@parapsych.org by January 9, 2011. In your email, please state the position(s) you’re interested in, your location, you institution of study, languages spoken, and any other relevant skills. Additional information, such as CV/resume or a recommendation from a PA member, is useful, but not required.
