Historic Staufen | A bus will take us to the historic town of Staufen, located south of Freiburg, where we will enjoy a guided tour in English. Staufen is famous for the fact that the historical alchemist Dr. Faustus, who became a legend in literature through Marlowe and Goethe, met his death there in an explosion.
Schladerer Distillery | The Schladerer Distillery, also in Staufen, is known for its excellent fruit brandies. We will be given a tour of the distillery, including a tasting session.
Lorenz Strauße Wine Tavern | The excursion will conclude with a visit to a so-called “Strausse”, an authentic wine tavern, where regional dishes and wine from the winemaker can be enjoyed. The “Lorenz-Strausse” is located in the village Ehrenkirchen, which is about 10 minutes away from Staufen.
Departure from Freiburg: 11 AM | Return: ~7 PM
Note: The participation fee includes the bus ride and guided tours. Food and drinks at the tavern are not included.
